Committee

Southampton Hockey Club is co-ordinated and managed by SHC Management Committee.  The Management Committee meets regularly to discuss the ongoing management and future development of the Club.

The role of the Management Committee is:

'To represent members in the operational functions of the club and the strategic development of hockey as a sport for all in the Southampton area.'

The Management Committee carries out their functions as defined in the Club Constitution and ensures the Club and its members comply with the requirements of the constitution.  Download the Club Constitution.

There are also a number of other sub committees that report to the Management Committee as and when required.  Current sub committees include:

Mens Selection Committee

Run on a weekly basis this Committee is made up of the Mens Club Captain, and all Mens Team Captains and Team Managers.  The Committee selects the mens teams for the weeks forth coming matches in accordance with the selection policy.

Ladies Selection

Run on a 3 weekly cycle, this Committee is made up of the Ladies Club Captain, and all Ladies Team Captains and Team Managers. The Committee selects the ladies teams for the weeks forth coming matches in accordance with the selection policy.

Event Organisation

This committee is made up of male and female representatives of the membership to organise and facilitate the clubs social scene off the pitch!

Coaching

The committee is formed by the Director of coaching and team/club coaches.  This committee considers the coaching structure and organisation during the season.

Discipline

This committee convened when discipline issues arise.  The Club Discipline Office chairs the committee and calls relevant people to consider discipline issues such as players receiving significant numbers of yellow cards or the issue of red cards.
